My Student Life at FEB Unsoed

Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaatuh. Hello guys, my name is Sonia Rizkita Subagyo, just call me Sonia for short. I am 20 years old and I'm from Purwokerto. I am an accounting student of Jenderal Soedirman University (UNSOED) Purwokerto. Yes, I write too. Because there are so many things that I cannot speak out, yet I always find a way to put it into words. Thank you for your support from the first day this page was created in 2019. From now, you can enjoy my writing.

Welcome to my blog, this time is going to talk about something interesting and of course very informative for you. It is about my college especially the Faculty of Economics and Business. Well, I give you information all about the Faculty of Economics and Business UNSOED. So this article is intended for all freshmen, who just go to college, congratulations!

This is a photo of me in front of the Economics and Business Faculty building that I took when I was a freshman at UNSOED in 2018. At that time, I felt so proud because I was able to be a part of the accounting students at the Faculty of Economics and Business UNSOED.

Why I am proud to be the one of the accounting students in the Faculty Economics and Business UNSOED because there are so many students from all over Indonesia that are interested in studying here, and also has a highly qualified lecturer. Reported from youth manual sources that the best economics faculty in Indonesia, FEB UNSOED was ranked eighth.

 

UNSOED is located in Puwokerto, Central Java. It has been more than one year to study here. Living here has taught me things beyond my expectations. But despite the many things I went through I have never before shared my side of the story. So here is a snapshot a peek to my typical day here as an Unsoed student.

                  

     

The Faculty of Economics and Business, Jenderal Soedirman University (UNSOED) was established by the Minister of Higher Education and Science Decree (Higher Education and Science) No. 127 of 1963 dated October 9, 1963.

Vision and Mission Economics and Business Faculty of UNSOED

Vision:

Excellence in the development of science and technology-oriented to local business and economy

Mission:

1. To carry sustained education in creating morally, academically and professionally dedicated graduates who have competitive advantages, leadership, and adaptability
2. To carry sustained research for the development of science and economic policies and to disseminate the results to public
3. To carry community service in promoting local economic development

And in UNSOED we can study abroad. How can we study abroad? International program (IP) is an undergraduate program in the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Jenderal Soedirman University (UNSOED), that provides international level education. IP was established as a manifestation of the university's mission to be a world-class civic university. 

This program is opened for both international and domestic students with 4 study program offered:

Bachelor Program:

• Accounting (Accredited "A")

    Accounting or accountancy is the measurement, processing, and communication of financial    information about economic.

•  Management (Accredited "A")

    The program trains the students about managerial skills on human resources, finance, operational strategy and marketing

• Economics (Accredited "A")

    Economics is poised on the intersection between social science and business and has great relevance for a wide range of public policy issues.

Diploma in International Business:

• International Business

    International Business program has the vision to be internationally recognized as an institution that has a qualified education process. The graduate is prepared to have managerial and foreign language skills equal with graduates from other leading universities.

FEB International Program also conducts several activities with associated universities abroad such as:

• Dual Degree
• Student Exchange
• International Internship
• International Academic Exposure
• Overseas International Seminar and Educational Events

What kind of programs can we take to study abroad?

First, there is a regular program which provides scholarship to study abroad. We can obtain various scholarships from the government like DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst). The second is you can get a scholarship from LPDP (Layanan Beasiswa dan Pendanaan Riset Indonesia) for those who have achievement.

FEB  UNSOED Postgraduate program such as:

1. Masters in Management
   The Master of Management Program is a Center of Excellence for manager education and the development of thinking, concepts, knowledge and management skills for human resource development.
2. Master of Economic
   The Master Program in Economics aims to produce graduates who are able to think independently of economic problems both applied and theoretical, demonstrate good knowledge of economic theory and adequate research skills, especially in the relevant field.
3. Master of Accounting
   Establishing a postgraduate education that is recognized by the authorities and the existence as an excellence postgraduate education provider to produce graduates who master knowledge and expertise in the fields of public sector and sharia accounting.

I wanna bring you guys to this spot because it's where I spend most of my time at UNSOED and definitely the best bit of my time in UNSOED which is officially a faculty library called Pusat Informasi Ilmiah (PII) Library. I spent the most time reading books, freaking out about essays that I had to hand in the next morning and meeting friends, so definitely this was the spot I enjoyed most in my time. I really enjoyed having a stack of books and a lot of time

Faculty of Economics and Business UNSOED has Laboratory Building. The existence of the integrated Laboratory Building is preparing graduates who are reliable, innovative research and community-oriented ideas and works, especially in the fields of economics and business.

And the most interesting for me when during class breaks because we can visit cafeteria or EduMart KOSUKU to buy food or drinks. A very comfortable place for relaxing and waiting for the next class. It has a kind of food or snacks with cheap prices. 

Student organizations are expected to encourage students to be active in the various activities within the Faculty of Economics and Business and can also be used as a place for self-development for students of the Faculty of Economics and Business. There are several student organizations that can be selected/accepted by students according to their interests and talents.

Therefore when I was in the beginning semester, I was very active to participate in various kinds of activities such as accounting, committing, and attending various national seminars. I also become an organizer of the accounting student association (HMJA) 2019. When I was the organizer of HMJA 2019, there were a lot of knowledge, experience, and relationships from various work programs that I did.

Life is a journey full of challenges and sometimes it can be challenging to make a decision to make a new home to find the truth to make friends, to succeed, to adapt, to make the world better places. Here at Jenderal Soedirman University and I'm so proud to be part of UNSOED. 

So, for all of you who want to continue your studies at FEB UNSOED, don't think twice just coming and joining because UNSOED is one of the most famous and favorite universities in Indonesia that produce graduates with character. The right choices build a good future.
